About NetAlert
The NetAlert website provides information about internet content filters for PCs and is managed by the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy (the Department).
The free availability of internet content filters under the National Filter Scheme ended on 31 December 2008. Continuing users of internet content filters obtained under the National Filter Scheme can access free technical assistance and telephone support for their chosen filter until 30 June 2010.

Cybersmart
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) Cybersmart program is a national cyber-safety education initiative. The program aims to give children, their parents and carers sound advice on how to best manage online risks so their experiences are safe and positive. The Cybersmart program includes:
- a comprehensive range of information and resources designed to meet the needs of children, parents, teachers and library staff (all resources are provided free of charge in Australia)
- a Cyber-safety Outreach Professional Development for Educators program and Internet Safety Awareness Presentations for parents and children
- a professional development program for trainee teachers
- funding for Kids Helpline to provide an online helpline service to young people who have experienced issues online
- the Cyber-safety Contact Centrea national telephone centre providing online safety information, advice and access to resources for all Australians.
ACMA is also responsible for dealing with complaints and investigations in regard to illegal or prohibited content under the online content scheme in the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
